MOA Hosts an Evening for Educators

Oct 22, 2012 Comments Off by

Dozens of local art educators gathered at the Museum of Art last week for the “Evening for Educators” event. Educators were taught by the museum’s education faculty and were also given information supplemental to their classroom art instruction.

Participants practiced new principles by participating in three different activities. Activity choices included exploring the meaning of home through mixed media collage, learning about Native American artist’s articulations of identity, engaging in interpretive dance in the galleries, and going on a docent-led tour of the current exhibition, People in a Hard Land: Iconic Images of Life in the Southwest.
