Hundreds attended March’s First Fridays event featuring the current exhibition, People in a Hard Land: Iconic Images of Life in the Southwest. The event included southwest-inspired food, art, music, cowboy poetry and dance. The 11 recently acquired Minerva Teichert paintings were also highlighted, as actress Anna Hargadon played the role of Teichert, entertaining listeners with stories from her life and work. Crowds gathered in the Lied Gallery for performances by the Living Legends dancers and Cowboy Poet Tyler Guy and the Buckaroo Balladeers. The current southwest exhibition will be open through April 13, 2013.
