A Message from the Director

Dear friends of the BYU Museum of Art, In dark days, peoples of many faith traditions gather in circles of light and comfort. I see that happening during the MOA’s necessary season of closure. We feel grateful that we have the capacity to adapt our jobs, our family “gatherings,” as well as our modes of worship in meaningful and enriching ways. The approaching General Conference and Easter week will surely be both poignant and unprecedented. Our prescient Prophet prepared us for this. Currently, the MOA staff is operating under unfamiliar conditions, yet every one of them brings solutions to achieve the best outcomes and least disruption of our programming. While the galleries are darkened, our website, app, and social media have been fortified with art content to engage you until our beloved museum reopens. Download the new BYU MOA app to immerse yourself in the rich collection, even when the museum doors are closed. My colleagues collectively desire that your experience with family and friends will be enhanced by works of art that convey hope and comfort. We wish you much joy despite trying conditions in the holy weeks to come. Mark Magleby Director, BYU Museum of Art
