Evening for Educators: Photography, Music, and Culture of the Jazz Era
Wednesday, January 13, 2016 | 6:00 PM—9:00 PMMusic of Freedom: Jazz through the Lens of Herman Leonard will explore the dynamic photographs of celebrated jazz artists in the 1940s and 50s. Educators will explore the concepts of passion, play, and social concerns of the era that contributed to this distinctly American art form through workshops, music demos, and art making.
The Evenings for Educators series is one of the longest-running programs of the StateWide Art Partnership (SWAP). These events are held at locations across the state of Utah and feature speakers, hands-on workshops, and educational materials designed to help teachers integrate art into their curriculum. Teachers may receive inservice credit for attending these events.
