Frequently Asked Questions

What are the museum’s hours?

The Museum of Art is open Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. From Wednesday through Friday, the museum has extended its hours until 9 p.m. The museum is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed Sundays.

The Museum of Art Store is open during regular museum hours.

The Museum of Art Café is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during fall and winter semesters. During spring and summer terms, the café is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The café is closed on Tuesdays until 11:45 a.m. for university devotionals.  More about the Museum of Art Café.

Is there an admission fee?

General admission to the museum is always free, as is entrance to most exhibitions. On rare occasions there may be an admission fee for a special exhibition. Admission information for current exhibitions is available on this website. Admission information can also be obtained by calling the museum at 801- 422-8287.

Where can I park?

Free visitor parking is available immediately in front of the museum’s north entrance on North Campus Drive. Parking is also available across the street at the Wilkinson Center visitor’s lot. Both lots offer free parking. Parking is available in most BYU parking lots after 7 p.m.

Does the museum allow artists to sketch or paint in the galleries?

Yes, but arrangements should be made beforehand through the museum’s Registration Department, moaregistration@byu.edu.

Is photography allowed in the museum?

Photography is not allowed in the museum.

Can the building be rented for events?

The museum is not available as a venue for events.
