Sketching and Copying Works of Art


Visitors are permitted to sketch and draw works of art in the permanent collection galleries of the Museum. Acceptable mediums include pencils, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, pencil sharpeners, and straight edges or rulers. Sketching in any liquid media must comply with the Museum's painting policy. Any other media not mentioned must be approved through the Museum's Registration Department.

Drawing pads must not be larger than 14" by 17" and must not be hand held. A limited number of camp stools are available and may be checked out through the Information Desk. Use of easels or sketching tables must be approved at least one week in advance through the Registration Department.
