Douglas Snow has been one of the most significant exponents of the modern school of painting in Utah. After nearly 40 years of dividing his time between teaching and painting Snow moved to the red rock country of southern Utah in the early 1980s. Here he produced powerful, expressive oil paintings that combine visionary and literal elements that reflect his deep understanding of the mysteries of nature and profound love of the land. This exhibit includes 29 large oil paintings painted during the last 13 year, including many recent works never exhibited in Utah before.
