OCTOBER 10-DECEMBER 31, 1996
This exhibition of watercolor and oil paintings is the result of Miller’s investigation of the complex set of relationships that compromise the dynamics of landscape painting. Miller abstracts from herself in an intuitive and expressionistic style that reflects upon the constant cycle of origin, growth, and disintegration as she embraces the paradoxes of continuation and stasis. Her liberating impulses break down the barriers between art and nature and hark back to an instinctual knowledge that moves inside us. The paintings are bold and colorful, the products of an intensive process interpretation and synthesis.
