Over 220 objects in this exhibition presented Ottoman advancements in scientific achievement, precious palace treasures, intricately decorated copies of the Holy Koran and artistry from the military armament. In the 16th century the Ottoman Empire was the world’s largest and most powerful empire. This traveling exhibit was featured in London, Geneva, Jerusalem and 8 other major American cities. During its time at the MOA, this exhibit received the highest percentage of attendance by the local population than any of the other museums in which it was shown.
