More than a hundred works of art assembled by Diane and Sam Stewart, Utah art collectors and friends of the MOA, are on display in this exhibition. In the early twentieth century, many talented and well-trained artists flocked to the American Southwest, attracted by its rugged, unspoiled landscape and its colorful native peoples. Their artistic visions of the land and its people, captured on canvases in vivid hues and bold colors, continue to resonate today among museum-goers and collectors. This exhibit displays excellent works by some of these master artists, including many who worked in Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Southern California.
