Evening for Educators: 'The Gates of Paradise'

Thursday, March 26
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
BYU Museum of Art

The Evenings for Educators series is held at locations across the state of Utah and feature speakers, hands-on workshops, and educational materials designed to help teachers integrate art into their curriculum. Teachers may receive in-service credit for attending these events.

About this Session:

Lorenzo Ghiberti famously earned a commission to create gilded bronze doors for the Florence Baptistery, a project that took 27 years to complete. The fifteenth-century doors became known as the “Gates of Paradise” after Michelangelo referred to them as such. The MOA has acquired plaster casts of the art historical icon, and they will be the focus of this Evening for Educators. Come see how this Renaissance tour de force can be used in your own cross-curricular teaching.

This session will be available both in person at the MOA and online. Please make sure you sign up for the correct section.
