Couldn’t make it to one of our Art Staycation activities? Art kits were all taken by the time you registered? No worries! You can still try our take home activities as a family using common household items! We’ll add a new activity each time a new session begins. Week 1: Create a Collection of Treasures
You’ll need:
- A small cardboard box
- Cardboard strips
- Paint pots
- Paint brush
- Tape
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Personal treasures to display!
Week 2: Material Matters
You’ll need:
- An image to base your artwork on
- Magazine pages
- Pearler beads
- Glue
- Scissors
- Any other materials you’d like to use: beans, sand, fabric, dirt, string, etc! The only limit is your imagination!
Week 3: Newspaper-Tape Sculptures
You’ll need:
- Paints
- Paintbrushes
- Craft sticks or popsicle sticks
- Tape
- Newspaper
Week 4: America’s People, Lands, and Stories
You’ll need:
- Blank postcards
- Stamps
- Markers, colored pencils, or craons
Week 5: The Book of Me
You’ll need:
- Pages with categories you’d like to include
- Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
- Glue stick
- Scotch or washi tape
- Magazines
- Printed pictures
- Scissors
