Museum Educator

Dr. Philipp Malzl received his Ph.D in art history at the University of Vienna, Austria, and his masters and bachelors in art history at Brigham Young University. He has taught at the University of Vienna, Brigham Young University as well as Early Light Academy, a public Charter School. His scholarship deals with nineteenth-century Victorian painting, with an emphasis in the press reception of foreign artists. An expert on James Jacques-Joseph Tissot, Dr. Malzl consults for Sotheby s and Christie s in New York as well as museums and art dealers throughout the world. He has served on the Utah Arts Council Board of Directors and worked at the Springville Museum of Art as well as the Mapleton Heritage Museum.
