Throughout our nation’s history, people have made music using a wide variety of instruments in a combination of different ensembles. This exhibit will show outstanding examples of musical instruments made and used in America to create distinctive sounds ranging from string bands and brass bands to symphony orchestras and jazz groups. The exhibit will include many outstanding pieces from one of the country’s finest collections, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
