June 13-August 13, 1996

This exhibition comes to the MOA after a successful European tour sponsored by the United States Information Agency and Arts American. The exhibit features art created by nineteen internationally recognized Native American artists. Living in the modern world while trying to maintain the integrity and beauty of ancient tradition is a challenge faced by many ethnic and cultural minorities in America. The unique vision of these works is complemented by the deep thread of beauty that runs through this exhibition, expressed through traditional imagery and modern styles.
