Dance with Divya

Here Divya Narayanan performs Dashavatara, a Bharathanatyam classical Indian dance that demonstrates the ten manifestations of Vishnu. Note the symbolic finger, hand, face, and body gestures—known as mudras—that accompany the ritualized motions. Each dramatic movement and every telling expression reveals a portion of the unfolding narrative about the lives of the avatars. Try to replicate her mudras as she tells the story of Vishnu’s ten incarnations, the saviors of mankind.
