Walters, 1974.Italian artist Francesco Primaticcio was born on this day in 1504. Primaticcio studied to become an artist for his young adult life. In 1532 he became part of the court of Francis I of France, spending many years doing commissioned work there. Later in his life, Primaticcio turned his focus from painting to architecture. Few of his architectural works survive.
