Classroom Art Kits

The Museum Careers Kit can be checked out of the Museum free of charge and used in your own classroom! Kits provide lesson plans, related images, information about individual artworks, and non-consumable art materials related to the kit. Teachers can either pick the kit up at the Museum or pay for two-way shipping.

Option #1: Museum Careers Kit

• Learn about the inner workings of a museum with this Museum Careers Kit! Students will be introduced to the world of art exhibitions by taking on the roles of various departments, including Curatorial, Design, Education, and Marketing. Through hands-on activities, students will develop essential skills in writing, math, critical thinking, and creativity, while exploring different careers.
• Whether as a single lesson, or a series of lessons, these kits are adaptable to fit distinct classroom schedules and needs, making them suitable for all grade levels.
• By engaging in these projects, students will gain a deeper understanding of the museum process, enhancing their appreciation for art and making future museum visits more meaningful and insightful.
• The Museum Careers Kit comes with a complete lesson plan, 31 artwork images, sample worksheets, and resources for curators, designers, educators, and marketers.

Option #2: Woodblock Printmaking Kit

• Students will learn about the process of woodblock printingmaking and create their own print (or print-inspired project) with this Woodblock Printingmaking Kit! Students will explore the materials and techniques behind woodblock prints, then apply observation and critical thinking skills to study woodblocks from the MOA’s collection. Students then complete a hands-on printing art project.
• By engaging in these projects, students will gain real-world experience with artistic methods while deepening their appreciation for art and its role across cultures.
• The Woodblock Printingmaking kit comes with a complete lesson plan and slideshow featuring the history and process of woodblock printing, as well as step-by-step images, artwork examples and videos. The kit also includes non-consumable art supplies for the printing project including brayers (ink rollers), stamps, stamp pads, demonstration objects, etc..
• This kit is adaptable to fit distinct classroom schedules and needs, making them suitable for all grade levels.
