Today we celebrate the birthday of the Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens. Known for his sumptuous figures and bold movement within his pieces, it is estimated that he painted about 1,400 paintings in his lifetime. Perhaps his most famous collection of work is the Medici cycle, commissioned by Marie de' Medici in 1621.
