MOA Offers Summer Workshop Series for Teen Girls
Artists featured in the BYU MOA’s current contemporary art exhibition, “Work To Do: Trent Alvey, Pam Bowman, Jann Haworth, Amy Jorgensen” will lead a series of workshops geared toward teen girls and their female mentors. Each artist will personally guide participants through the exhibition followed by an art-making activity related to selected exhibition themes. May 31 | 1 – 4 pm
Jann Haworth
Create soft sculptures, and learn about how Haworth uses repurposed domestic materials for her artwork.
June 28 | 1- 4 pm
Amy Jorgensen
Discuss and explore issues relating to self-image and gender roles, and create art that expresses your feelings about them.
July 19 | 1- 4 pm
Trent Alvey
Examine the affect labeling can have on women, and create art that challenges female stereotypes in popular culture.
August 16 | 1- 4 pm
Pam Bowman
Create woven sculptures, and explore traditional and non-traditional definitions of “women
