Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, known for his post-Impressionist paintings and poster designs, was born on this day in 1864. This poster of the famous can-can dancer Jane Avril celebrates Parisian nightlife near the turn of the twentieth century, such as the famous Moulin Rouge nightclub, which the artist frequented.
