Today is the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, or Michaelmas, in the Roman Catholic, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. Archangel Michael is considered the greatest of all the Archangels and the feast day is cause for great celebration and has been for centuries. In Medieval times, the feast day also marked the turn from Summer to Autumn.
