Robert Walter Weir (1803-1889), Pilgrims Aboard the Mayflower, c.1840, graphite and pastel, 8 13/16 x 12 3/8 inches. Brigham Young University Museum of Art, purchase/gift of the Mahonri M. Young Estate, 1959.

On this day in 1620, the Mayflower set sail with 130 people – 105 pilgrims and 25 crew, bound for the New World.
