American LDS artist Minerva Teichert was born on this day in 1888. Teichert lived much of her life in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah, painting large scale murals of her pioneer heritage and scriptural events. See her series of 42 Book of Mormon paintings, painted between 1949-1952, this fall at the BYU Museum of Art in a new exhibition entitledA Visual Testimony: Minerva Teichert's Book of Mormon Paintings.
