BYU Grad Tiffany Wixom Joins MOA Staff

Tiffany Wixom has joined the BYU Museum of Art as the Assistant Registrar in the Collections Department. Tiffany earned a Bachelor’s Degree at BYU in Art History and Curatorial Studies, graduating in 2013. Following graduation, she worked at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City as a Collection’s Intern, which internship later turned into a job as the Objects Preparator. In 2016, Tiffany returned to BYU to pursue a Master’s Degree in Comparative Studies with an Art History and Museum Studies emphasis. In April 2018, she successfully defended her Master’s Thesis, entitled, 'Combating Voyeurism: Domenichino and the Protofeminist Tradition of Bologna.' During her time as a graduate student, Tiffany worked as an intern in the Collections Department at the MOA, assisting in many exhibitions, including M.C. Escher: Other Worlds and Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light. As part of her work as Assistant Registrar, she also works closely with the MOA's own collection. She said, 'I enjoy how much interaction I get to have with our museum’s collection. Working in the vaults gives me the opportunity to see works that are rarely available to the public, which is really exciting!' Of being hired as Assistant Registrar after working as a Collections Intern, she said, 'I am excited for this opportunity to continue to work in a field that I love.'
