[/column32_last] [tabs] [tab title=”About the Exhibition”] Step into the exciting world of costume design with CUT! Costume and the Cinema. Featuring 40 exquisite period costumes from popular Hollywood films, paired with a series of portraits from the Museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition explores how wardrobe details can establish authenticity and uncover subtle clues about a painting’s subject or a costume’s character.
The films and paintings represented in the exhibition depict five centuries of history, drama and comedy with period costumes worn by famous film stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Daniel Craig, Kate Winslet, Sandra Bullock, Uma Thurman, Anjelica Huston, and many others. In all, more than 30 actors will be represented from 25 films, including the new release, Sherlock Holmes, Academy Award winner The Duchess and perennial favorites Pirates of the Caribbean, Sense and Sensibility and The Phantom of the Opera.
