Dr. Philipp Malzl received his Ph.D in art history at the University of Vienna, Austria, and his masters and bachelors in art history at Brigham Young University. He has taught at the University of Vienna, Brigham Young University as well as Early Light Academy, a public Charter School. His scholarship deals with nineteenth-century Victorian painting, with an emphasis in the press reception of foreign artists. An expert on James Jacques-Joseph Tissot, Dr. Malzl consults for Sotheby.
