Evening for Educators: 'Spain and the Hispanic World'

Thursday, February 22
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
BYU Museum of Art

The Evenings for Educators series is held at locations across the state of Utah and feature speakers, hands-on workshops, and educational materials designed to help teachers integrate art into their curriculum. Teachers may receive in-service credit for attending these events. This event focuses on the exhibition Spain and the Hispanic World.

A 4,000-year-old earthenware bowl. A mosaic head of Medusa weighing more than 100 pounds. A tenth-century container carved to include Islamic history. An eighteenth-century writing cabinet. A 100-year-old oil painting from Spain. What do these objects all have in common? Whether ancient or modern, east or west of the Atlantic Ocean, each of these treasures comes from the Hispanic World. Come learn more about how objects like these can be creatively incorporated into teaching art and other core curriculum.
