Honoring our New Graduates

We'll miss these students and the amazing things they did for the MOA, its collection, and its visitors!

One of the great joys of working at a university museum is the chance for full-time professionals to collaborate with student employees and interns. Nothing happens at the MOA without these fantastic BYU students taking part. They protect and preserve our collection, they lead tours and other activities, they help build exhibitions and frames, they research the artworks in our collection, and they offer irreplaceable administrative support from behind the scenes. The only downside of working with students is that they eventually graduate and take their incredible talents to other organizations across the globe.

Today is graduation at BYU, which means that another group of fantastic MOA employees is concluding its time here. We can't thank them enough for everything that they've done for their colleagues, these collections, and those who visit the Museum. They will be sorely missed, and we wish them all the best of luck as their careers take them elsewhere!

"Working at the MOA did so much good for me," said graduating MOA Educator Cheynie Wray. "It gave me purpose and a second home where I felt I could contribute and be valued, and I could not be more grateful for that!" Courtney Olsen Serrano, her former colleague on the Education Team who also is graduating, agrees: "Working at the MOA gave me experience and skills in teaching, listening, communicating with people of all ages, and appreciating beauty in the world. I’ll always be grateful for the people I worked with and the time that I spent as a steward of the Museum and it’s guests."

Olivia Breneman, a graduate from our Registration Team, said she "absolutely loved my time at the MOA! I have met some of the most kindhearted and thoughtful people and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside them. Working at the MOA has brought a deeper passion for museums that I never thought I’d have. It has set me on a path that fills me with hope and excitement for the future!" Tucker Lindgren, a graduate working on our Fabrication Team, added "Working at the MOA has given me an opportunity to be present with art for longer periods of time. Like language immersion, the art pieces on display or that I've worked with have become a part of my subconscious reflections--I think you need to be with a thing, or a place, or person, for a long time before it becomes a part of you."

Thanks once again to each of our graduates! We can't wait to see the marvelous things you accomplish next.
