LIFE Panel

Thursday, October 26
7:00 PM - 8:15 PM
BYU Museum of Art

We're bringing in experts in photography, art history, and journalism from across BYU for an interdisciplinary panel on the exhibition LIFE: Six Women Photographers. At the event, we'll be pleased to hear from the following:

  • Heather Belnap is a Professor of Art History & Curatorial Studies at BYU who focuses on feminist art history. She serves as the chair of CAA’s Services to Historians of the Visual Arts Committee and as the Utah representative for The Feminist Art Project, and she was recently honored in Jann Haworth’s Utah Women 2020 mural as one of 250 or so women who have shaped the state’s culture.
  • Melissa Gibbs is an award-winning journalist who has worked for more than 17 years in television newsrooms across Utah. She has worked at KBYU as a producer, anchor, and reporter; at ABC 4 as an assignment desk editor and associate producer; at FOX 13 News where she created, launched, and produced their mid-day newscast, Live at 11; and at KUTV 2News as a producer and executive producer.
  • Paul Adams is the current area head of Photography at BYU. Adams has his work featured in the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., the Royal Photographic Society, the Moscow International Foto Awards, the London International Creative Competition, and the International Kontinent awards in Izmir, Turkey. His current area of research focuses on alternative photographic processes and digital technologies.
