On this day in 1819, Queen Victoria was born. Victoria was born to Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who was the fourth son of King George III, and his wife Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. Victoria ascended the throne at age 18 in 1837. Queen Victoria famously married her first cousin, Prince Albert, with whom she had nine children. All of her children married into royal or noble families throughout Europe. Queen Victoria reigned for 63 years and seven months, until her death on January 22, 1901.
