Co-Sponsored by the BYU Studio Areas of the Department of Visual Arts and the MOA and held in connection with the Museum of Art's current exhibition,

michael whiting: 8-bit modern Constructed from welded steel and painted with bright automotive enamels, artist Michael Whiting creates playfully pixilated sculptures exploring the relationship between early video gaming and 1960s Minimalist sculpture in contemporary visual culture. His art also creates a dialogue about the relationship between the “real” and the “virtual,” hinting at the incredible benefits of technology in our modern lives but also its potential pitfalls.
