A string ensemble plays in front of Carl Bloch's 'Christ Healing the Sick at Bethesda'

Music at the MOA: Bach & Bloch

Tuesday, December 02
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
BYU Museum of Art

Sit at the foot of Christ Healing the Sick at Bethesda and be serenaded by the BYU Baroque Ensemble, a student chamber orchestra performing on period string instruments. Led by BYU Professor of violin Alex Woods, these musicians will celebrate the artistry of both Johann Sebastian Bach and Carl Heinrich Bloch as they illuminate the life of the Savior through art. It’s free and open to all! Repertoire will include excerpts from Telemann’s Suite in A minor and Bach’s iconic “Brandenburg” Concerto no. 2 featuring other faculty soloists Christina Castellanos, flute and Christian Tran, oboe.
