Belnap, M.D. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC was dedicated on this day in 1982. The memorial includes the famous Memorial Wall, two black walls 246 feet long with the names of all American military personnel who died during the Vietnam War etched on the wall. The Memorial Wall was designed by architect Maya Lin, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
