Poetry Jam 2018

Poetry Jam 2018
On Thursday, March 22, 2018, dozens of people gathered at the MOA for the second annual Poetry Jam event. This event is a collaboration between the BYU English Department and the BYU Museum of Art, to introduce and celebrate what organizer Dr. Jeff Tucker (English) called the 'ancient pastime' of ekphrastic poetry—poetry responding to artwork. Dr. Jana Emmer (MOA) headed the committee that juried poems from the submissions from both BYU students and faculty. On the evening of the poetry jam, the 20 selected poets read their poems in front of the artworks that inspired the poetry itself. We have compiled all of the poems read at the Poetry Jam 2018 and invite you to follow the link and be inspired by the fantastic talent represented there. Thanks for a wonderful Poetry Jam 2018 and we'll see you next year! Click for 2018 poems:
