Sketch Night

Join the sketch party on Thursday, September 14 at 7 PM. Bring a sketch pad, find your favorite Dixon painting, and spend an hour making your own sketch of it! If you'd like, you can even submit your sketch to the Searching for a Home Challenge.

This event is free and open to all aged 12 and older, but registration via Eventbrite is required. Materials are not provided, but some may be purchased at the MOA Store. All participants agree to comply with the following rules during the event:

  • Materials Permitted
    • Pencils, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, pencil sharpeners that catch the shavings, straight edges, and rulers.
    • Any medium not mentioned is not permitted for this event.
  • Drawing pads, easels, stools, and backpacks
    • Drawing pads or boards may not be larger than 14” x 17” and must be handheld.
    • A limited number of camp stools are available and may be checked out through the MOA’s Coat and Check room on the Main Floor.
    • Use of easels or sketching tables are not permitted for this event.
    • Backpacks are not permitted in galleries and must be checked in the MOA’s Coat Check Room on the Main Floor.
  • Access
    • Hallways, doorways, and display spaces must remain open to visitor’s traffic. Artist may not block these areas in the galleries and are not permitted to lean against the walls and display cases. Touching works is absolutely prohibited.
    • Materials, drawing pads, and equipment may not be propped up against walls, benches, or display cases or spread out on the floor in a manner that would be dangerous to other visitors or to works of art.
