Artwork of the Week: Fall Flowers

820037935.jpg
Edwin Evans (1860-1946), 'Fall Flowers,' no date, oil on canvas board, 18 1/8 x 23 7/8 inches. Brigham Young University Museum of Art, 1941.

Edwin Evans’ Fall Flowers captures the essence of autumn. The can of paintbrushes and the pots surrounding the flowers fade into the background against the vivid red and rust colors of the petals. This cozy and familiar scene is reminiscent of the fall decorations and floral arrangements that beautify our homes during the Thanksgiving season. We hope that like Evans, you can find joy in the world around you during this special holiday!

The BYU MOA wishes you a very happy and warm Thanksgiving surrounded by family!
