Blanket Drive

Friday, September 22 - Friday, September 29
BYU Museum of Art

As we see in the exhibition Primal Forces: Earth, the powers of nature can be as violent as they are nurturing, and being good stewards of the Earth includes taking care of the people who are on it. That's why the MOA is teaming up with Lifting Hands International to collect blankets to help victims of the recent floods in Pakistan, and we need your help!

We are seeking donations of new quilts or blankets (either homemade or store bought) of any size to assist these vulnerable individuals and families. The drive will kick off at the Art After Dark event on Friday, September 22, where one of the art activities will be hand tying quilts. We invite you to either bring your own blanket(s) to donate, or join the hand-tying activity with the materials we provide, or both! Every donation and every little bit of effort helps. The drive will then continue through the following week, which is Green Week at BYU. Drop your blankets and quilts off at the MOA Front Desk at any time the Museum is open during Green Week to support this cause. Then visit the exhibition to learn what more we can do to take better care of the Earth and the people who live here.

If you have any questions about this drive, please email riley_lewis@byu.edu for more information on how to get involved.
