SOUNDS OF BEAUTY
Bring your headphones and enjoy our special playlist while you take in the artwork.
This playlist was created to commemorate the presentation of the exhibition The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce at the BYU Museum of Art. It features a blend of Romantic era classical music, reflecting the tastes and legacy of Luis A. Ferré, the museum’s founder, an accomplished pianist himself, as well as a selection of music by artists supported through his cultural initiatives. Also included are Puerto Rican pop and folk tracks from the 1950s and 1960s, echoing the era when the Museo de Arte de Ponce was founded and its collection began to grow. This musical selection offers a tribute to Ferré’s lifelong devotion to beauty, education, and the arts— a devotion that ultimately made possible the exhibition we present here today.
