Dr. Philipp Malzl earned a Ph.D in art history at the University of Vienna, Austria, as well as masters and bachelors degrees in art history at Brigham Young University. He directs the Education Department at the MOA, which includes public programs and events. His research interests centers on nineteenth-century European painting, with a special emphasis on James Tissot.
