THE WAY OF THE CROSS
MARCH 27 - AUGUST 22, 2026
For centuries, Christians have remembered the Savior's final mortal moments through a series of 14 scenes known as the Via Crucis, or the Stations of the Cross. To this day, meditating on the Savior's final hours of suffering helps worshipers contextualize their own burdens and prepare for the glory of Easter Sunday.
Joining multitudes of artists who have made their depictions of the stations, Latter-day Saint illustrator David Habben created his own series in 2024, including a triumphal 15th Station to mark the conclusion of this holiest of pilgrimages. This Easter season, we invite everyone to take some time with the Savior and to, through art, travel with Him along the Way of the Cross.
To accompany the exhibition, we commissioned a new Masterwork by composer Andrew Maxfield and the Sound of Ages Choir. We invite you to bring headphones with you to the Museum and listen to the piece, Stations of the Cross.
