Open Studio – Perspective

Saturday, March 21
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
BYU Museum of Art
An 18-foot-tall gilded structure depicting scenes and figures from the Old Testament
Lorenzo Ghiberti (1378-1455), 'The Gates of Paradise.' 1452, gilded gypsum cast of the original, c. 1947-1948, Brigham Young University Museum of Art, with generous support from Bill and Barbara Benac, 2016.

This Month's Project:

At this month's Open Studio, explore Gilded Paradise with a self-guided tour that investigates Lorenzo Ghiberti’s use of perspective to create scenes that feel so real you could jump inside them. Then head into the studio to create your own spectacular perspective drawing.

About Open Studio:

Each month in this free-choice, self-guided art-making experience for all ages, you’ll be inspired by different artworks on display, then create your own artistic responses in the MOA studio! Join us any time between 11 AM & 1 PM to participate. All are welcome, and registration is not required.

We typically hold new Open Studio activities on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, so drop by every month for a new activity featuring different artworks and materials!

If you would like an ASL interpreter for this event, please contact liz_brailsford@byu.edu at least 3 business days before the event.
