'Faith Lost and Found': A MOA Panel

What do experts in philosophy, art history, and German have to say about a MOA exhibition? We've invited BYU Professors Rob McFarland, Travis Anderson, and Kenneth Hartvigsen to share their unique perspectives on Reconciliation: Biblical Imagination in German Expressionist Prints. On October 3, you're invited to to join them!

This event is free and open to all. Registration is not required.

Meet the Panelists:

  • Dr. Rob McFarland is a Professor of German, having earned a BA in German and an MA in German Literature from BYU, then receiving a PhD in German from the University of California, Berkeley. He specializes in cultural history and film, he's worked closely with the Kennedy Center's Global Women’s Studies program.
  • Professor Travis Anderson is the Associate Chair of the Philosophy Department. He earned a BA in Philosophy and a BFA in Studio Art at BYU, then completed his MA and PhD degrees in Philosophy at Loyola University of Chicago. He served 7 years as Director of the BYU International Cinema program and curated the Frames of Beauty exhibition here at the MOA in 1999.
  • Dr. Kenneth Hartvigsen received his PhD and MA from Boston University, specializing in American art and visual culture, after graduating from the University of Utah with a BA in Art History. A former curator here at the MOA, his research interests including American figural painting, popular illustration and print media, and the visual cultures of popular music.
